Political Sacrifice
The whole nation has seen a new kind of political sacrifice on the basis of morals and principles. Sonia Gandhi, proved second time that whole of the Indian Politics couldn't only be symbolized as power game. There are certain values still present in our current day political system.
This thing should not be analyzed with a perspective of drama or stunt only, but it would have a lots of future impacts. All of this really require a lot of courage and political willpower & definitely Mrs. Gandhi demonstrated that.
This is true that this decision has enhanced her public base and the image of a clean politician. Second thing she made to score the home run against the so called Sonia-Targeted politics played by the opposition. Now the ball bounced to the opposition side.
This decision also directly impacts the coming assembly elections of five states & can gain the Congress a big win-win. Also with this she made to overcome a number of other disputes such as Scorpio Submarine, Volker, Qwatarochi, etc. which can get associated with the UPA Government and the Congress Party itself.
