IPL – Game is not over

Now on early morning of 26th April 2010, when the whole on-ground story of IPL3 is over with victory of Chennai Super Kings, a new chapter would start in the Saga on later part of the morning with Governing Council’s meeting. Everybody is thriving for the head of Lalit Modi as a bounty and claiming the righteousness would prevail with his removal. But only one question I would wish to ask, Is this all happened in sudden moment and Modi has carried away all fortune instantaneously without coming in the eyes of all these gentlemen of governing council? All of these dealings happened in a span of almost 3 long years. Where were all there embodiments of honesty by then, and how have they emerged from nowhere howling over while they remained part of topmost body of IPL since its inception?

IPL is a pet child of BCCI, where was BCCI before now? Haven’t they notice even a single wrongdoing for such a significant period? And if BCCI claims of innocence are actually right then do they have any moral right to be in existence when they were not able to note any tip about this multi-billion scandal? BCCI is not a corporate body and they claim so when they have to save the income taxes. So government has every right to null and void it and create a new organization with expert of game not of politic and corruption.

BCCI is earning money from Indian taxpaying citizens, so every penny with them belongs to the citizens of India as well to players and game. When such a huge money of Indian citizens is on stake, FM, Sports Ministry, Enforcement Directorate, IT Authorities, CAG and CBI all of them have to take action to snatch every single Rupee from it. Tax them extreme if tax haven route is opened in IPL investments; track every flow of money in and out, use SEBI to force stakeholders to disclose the investment of listed companies, and every other step to tighten the rope around there neck.

If government would keep on running from its duty, it would raise serious doubts about the clash of interests. In any case when such large public money and interest would be involved we can expect as suo-motto from Apex Court. If that is not coming, flood them with PIL and force them in every way to take action. Truth may prevail only then.
