Educated Sikhs & Situations of Panth Today

After seeing the present situations of Panth there are voices from various sections of Sikh Society that Panth could only be brought out of troubles if some learned/qualified & selfless should come forward and volunteer themselves for service of Sikhism.

However, the biggest question is that the UN-learned/UN-qualified & Selfish lot which is now completely controlling the whole power in political senses these Panthic institutions provides and Golak (Money through Alms or Daswand of common Sikhs) of Gurudwaras (which in many manners money of Guru and so reserved for the service of weaker sections of Panth), would they vacate all this for Educated lot to take charge, so easily? Educated Sikhs are otherwise more concerned about the safety of themselves, their family and their livelihood.

These elements harming Sikhism have ample money & mussel power as well as the stooges which they could use for any of their cause, when it comes to losing all their power and source of income. They would definitely repent with best of their capabilities to harm people with reformist spirit as much as they could and to any level. On the other hand, Educated Sikhs are alone, while earning for themselves and their family by their hard work while following Baba Guru in their heart but whenever the question arises to take lead, the innocent faces of their kids come before them.

Prof Gurmukh Singh, Gyani Dit Singh are real & biggest reformers of last centenary, both learned & selfless to the core, but everyone know how they were dealt with. They were even excommunicated and by some fake and unrightful order (Akauti Hukamnama) of priests their right to call themselves Sikh had been denied to them though they were bigger Sikhs than anyone else by that time 'Handling' the religious affairs.

Educated Sikhs have families to take care, have to do their duties towards their parents (who have otherwise spent their whole lives to make them reach their current levels), wife (one who is selflessly serves their family life long) & kids (Future of Panth) as a true Sikh. Until or unless the social security of missionaries and their families wouldn't be taken care by so called well to do 'Panthic' people, educated lot would keep the distance from such matters. 

We have seen the response of our 'Panthic' institutions many times towards the kins of ones who have sacrificed themselves for the service of Panth. Who in the end turned to the door of families of Prof Gurmukh Singh, Gyani Dit Singh, Bhai Karam Singh Historian, Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha, Professor Sahib Singh and other in the time of their needs. We are shouting them as heroes of Panth but when their kins, whose needs they have sacrificed for Panth, needed the support of Panth, we were hardly there.

Thinking about the welfare & social security of their families, making arrangements for proper education for their kids (so that they would follow the rightful path and Sikh way of living) and ensuring their kins a dignified life is not selfishness but their duty as per the GRAHSTH (Family-Life), the main principle of Sikhism. Gurbani has also approved it as GRAHASTH MAIN NIRBAAN or living truthful Family life is the key of salvation. 

Once the educated people would be helped to feel relived from their concerns towards their kins we would see more people coming forward for the service of Panth.

Your God or My God

(I was made to visit a very hateful discussion on Facebook today, between Hindu and Muslim Beliefs. I usually avoid vising such places but tagged by one in my fiend-list, so every and other hateful comment is keep on bugging me as an update. Without involving in any hatred, I just wrote following of my Sheyars (Poetic verses) there and moved out... )

I am not a preacher (Thank God!) But a Shayar (Poet), so wouldn't going to teach anybody some religious teaching of anykind at all but going to say my Sheyars (Poetic Verses):

खलकत से मूंह मोड़ लिया ख़ुदा तूँ कैसे पायेगा,

While you have turned the face from Humanity, How could you reach to God?

You have demolished the Mandirs/Temples (Places of worship of Hindu or other eastern religions) and haven't spared the Maszid/Mosque too (Places of worships of Semitic or western religions), how long you keep on continuing this destroying of hearts?

Sometime you do this after reciting Gayatri (Hindus' most sacred Mantra) and other time you did these shameful deeds while reciting Kalma (Sacred verse from Quran), are you now going to teach God himself in your school of hatred?

What is your God and how could it be different from the God of others, if you otherwise believe that only one has created the whole creation? And how long you keep on repeating this hateful, sectarian, divisive and evil thinking of yours?

O 'Kanwal'! Just see with the inner eye or the knowledge that has been given to you directly by Almighty himself, you would find him personified in everyone living and non-living of this entire creation and then you would realize this truth you would never ever be able to hate anybody howsoever bad one is!

May the Mighty Allah/God/Bhagwan or by whatever name you call him give us the lesson of love and shunning of all kind of prejudices towards humankind and give us right spirit to embrace all with love and compassion.....

ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਕ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਓਹਨਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ,

ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਡੇਰੇਦਾਰ ਬਣਾ ਬਿਠਾਏ ਹਨ,

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੇ ਮਨਮਤਿ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰਾਂ 'ਚ ਲਿਆ ਬਿਠਾਇਆ ਹੈ,

ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਢੇਰ ਲਾ ਲਏ ਹਨ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਤਿਜੋਰੀਆਂ 'ਚ,

ਕਾਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੇ ਜਿਹਨਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੇਟ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਿਖ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਇੱਕ-੨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ, 

ਕਿਰਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੰਡ ਛਕਣ ਦੀ ਜਾਚ ਦੱਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਿਖ ਧਰਮ ਚ ਵਿਹਲੜ ਪੂਜਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨਵੀਂ ਜਮਾਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ,

ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਗੋਲਕ ਜੋ ਕਦੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ ਓਸਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਢਿੱਡ ਨਾਲ  ਸਿਆਸਤ ਦੇ ਨਾੜੂਏ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜੋੜ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,

Ajj Sidhantak sikhi khatam ho rahi hai, Sidhant di gal khatam ho rahi hai veer... bahekhan wali bhaven wadh rahi hove.. Te es sabh da karan vi asin khud hi haan... Sadi apni soch hi hai..

Sikh is nothing but a student, actually a student on the path shown by Baba Guru Nanak who is ready for continuous learning. Anyone who could vow to follow the teachings of Gurbani could be a Sikh. Closed mind could never ever be of a Sikh. Sikh is a person who is ready to listen to every logic with an open mind.

Its not being against the sikh saroop when one talks about the sikh Sidhant as first. I am not against amrit or proper sikh saroop. My thinking is sidhant pehlan hai Bani pehlan hai, bana baad ch hai. That is why Guru Nank started with bani and Guru Gobind Singh gave Amritdhari looks later.

Sachha Musalmaan, Sacha Hindu, Sacha Isayi, Guru Nanak da ghar tan ohna layi vi khulla hai... Par ithe asin apneyan nu vi tegan ch lagge hoye han..

These views are there because we Sikhs have not been rightly taught the actual message contained in Guru Grath Sahib. The reason of this is that we Sikhs have stopped producing educated preachers and patronizing them so that they wouldn't have to bother about the basic necessities of a dignified life.

We and Nature

All recent natural calamities including floods, droughts, changing of temperature of our atmosphere, cyclones, etc. that we have seen world-over in the recent past in such a short span of time in this decade are the results of human activities disturbing the balance of the nature.

We are overproducing (in terms of population), exploiting the resources of nature & leading them to extinction and spoiling the precious water, air, forests & many other resources given to us by mother nature. The whole balance of nature is disturbed due to these activities of humans, so much so that along with endangering the various species to the level of disappearance we have also raised a question mark on human existence over the long period on this planet.

If we keep on playing this way against nature we would end up in nature showing its cruel face just to recreate the balance.. Hope we would realize before it would be too late to recover.

Unrest in Kashmir: PM's Statement on Kashmir

I welcome the Prime Minister's statement on Kashmir in which he accepted Kashmir as an issue concerned with the right of common Kashmiris to live with dignity, which find its origin 63 years back with the independence of Indian State. He acknowledged the resent of common Kashmiris is there due to various reasons which have barred them from dignified life.

PM also mentioned the taboo of autonomy in his speech. And by expressing his willingness to have this issue on table if all political parties develop a consensus on same, he has taken a newer turn in the policy. Though the condition he put for tabling the issue is completely ambiguous as none of the rightist parties would ever agree to this proposal.

In his address PM also made an effort to reach to common Kashmiris. He did mention about the economic package and powerful local governance, which could otherwise, has the capability to address the various grievances of a common man struggling for the basic necessities of life in the valley, if implemented successfully in the same spirit as proposed.

There are however certain voices from the valley which term it as very little and very late. This might seems true after seeing the deaths and the injuries that happened on the ground in the Kashmir. However, this is the opportunity that can be seen as a new start.

May be there is very little on the table for the time being, but it could be considered as a beginning, a beginning in the right direction. It is to be accepted that any side which is serious for the resolution of this issue couldn't run from talks anymore or couldn't dictate conditions in the pre-talk phase itself.

All stakeholders should have to understand that the big issues couldn't be put on discussion on the day one of the talk itself. There are various levels of modalities in which all stakeholders need to get involved to design the agenda of discussion. So, one need to be involved in the processes without any prejudices or diktats, considering the complex nature of the Kashmir situation; and try to resolve with involvement in peaceful and democratic manner while avoiding any kind of clash, which would otherwise only hit the life of common Kashmiris, for whose stake all parties are raising their slogans.

Human Emotions, Science & Future

Human emotions are something which are still unexplainable with the scientific knowledge that mankind currently possess. There is no scientific theory that can explain why we get happy on some moments or why some things make us unexplainably aggressive? Why we get jealous with some achievements of others? How we sometimes feel huge intrinsic desire for somewhat? 

The very weak reply comes as what is visibly happening in the neurons, present in strength of millions in our brain, in form of some electrochemical reactions. But why these reactions exist on first place? Why only some particular emotions are there at specific occasions rather than the other ones? Who is actually deciding which emotions to be best suitable for the situations in which they actually emerge? Current knowledge is astonishingly silent.

May be the knowledge to which we would evolve with time in future, we can answer these questions. Then, by that time, we might be able to control or generate the human emotions. Loss of some loved one would not be going to generate any shock and grief. We could create a world free from depression or any kind of mental disease, with this new research. 

But looking at the other angle, this could turn the humanity into mechanic puppets, with nothing left humane. Somebody or something could control all the emotions, all of the human feelings and could generate them or wipe them out with some sort of central control. There wouldn’t be any motherly love and care, there wouldn’t be any affection, love, romance, bravery, kindness, zeal for struggle and millions of our other emotions, in the same realistic manner as they exist today, which actually make us what we actually are. Everything would be controlled or falsely induced. Isn’t it a terrible visualization?

Now try to imagine the authority which is having the control of his whole false and induced world. The one with that power wouldn’t be anything less than today’s God or even above that. God of today atleast has no control on our feelings.

But the question arises would we ever be able to attain that power. Is this anyway possible? Think about it.. The whole world sharing and evolving information with internet was not even imagined by one or two centuries back. Nobody had ever thought about the possibility of cloning, travelling to moon or other planets & stars beyond. So what is hidden with future would only be revealed when the appropriate time would come.

Sajid Khan’s Ignorant & uncalled comments on Gatka (ਗਤਕਾ, The Sikh Martial Art) in “India’s Got Talent”

I hereby condemn the Sajid Khan’s self-correcting, egoist, ignorant & uncalled remarks specifically over the Gatka (ਗਤਕਾ, The Sikh Martial Art) and generally over the Sikh spirits in an episode of “India’s Got Talent”. Sajid Khan is unaware brat who doesn’t know even the iota about the martial spirits in Sikhs which emerged as need of time.

He said that use of sword by a five year old kid during performance of Gatka is complete violence, along with additional uncalled comments. Using his power as one of the jury members, he just rejected to accept it as talent of the Gatka Group which had performed on the stage of "India's Got Talent". He just left his seat when other members of the jury try to explain the context and made this an issue of of his ego.

He is completely ignorant where Gatka is coming from in the history. It was the time of 18 century when infants and little kids were being killed while tossed in air & caught on spears, cold-bloodedly, in front of their imprisoned Sikh mothers to force them to conversion of religion, irrespective of their ages, during the times of Mir Mannu as Governor of Lahore. That was the actual ruthless, butcher-kind and evil, against which Sikhs fought over 2 centuries single handily.

There was a famous Sikh saying of those days:

Means

Governor Mir Mannu is Sickle for us and we are like crops to him.

As much as he cuts us we just grow more in terms of spirits as well as in numbers..

Two younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Baba Zorawar Singh & Baba Fateh Singh were merely 7 & 9 years of age when they were murdered monstrously by Nawab of Sirhind by beheading after being bricked up alive in a wall in Dec 1705 AD.

In that kind of situations, martial art of Gatka became a need for every Sikh and even for the kids to protect the others as well as for self defence. So it shows his idiot to start an egoistic argument about the issue he is not aware about at all.

Kiran Kher, being of Punjabi background, might be more aware about this heritage martial art. So she rightly opposed that uncalled remarks. But being not a historian and intellect, her opposition lacked the point of references from history.

Channel producer used these uncalled remarks by an idiot as controversy to sell his episode, which is equally condemnable.

I also wished that the Gatka group hasn’t gone to that stage, because this valuable heritage has to be presented only in front of the audiences who are aware about its stature and have respect for it.

ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਦੁੱਧ ਨਾਲ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਅੱਖੀਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਏਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੜੀ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਤੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਵੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ| ਕੁਝ ਵੀਰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਅਸ਼-੨ ਕਰ ਉੱਠਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਧੰਨ-ਗੁਰੂ -੨ ਪੁਕਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ| ਪਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸਿੱਖੀ 'ਚ ਘੁੱਸ ਆਈ ਇਸ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਵਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਦੁਖੀ ਵੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹੰਝੂ ਵੀ ਕੇਰਦਾ ਹੈ| 

ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਿਕ ਧਰਮ 'ਚ ਘੁੱਸ ਆਏ ਪਾਖੰਡ ਤੇ ਕਰਮਕਾਂਡਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਜੜ੍ਹੋਂ ਹਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ| ਅੱਜ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੋਚਣ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ 'ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਪਾਖੰਡ ਜੋ ਦੀਸਹਿ' ਦਾ ਨਾਰ੍ਹਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ 'ਚ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਾਖੰਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਰ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ 'ਚੋਂ ਸਿੱਖੀ 'ਚ ਮੁੜ੍ਹ ਵਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਏਸ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਨਿਆਰੀ ਹੋਂਦ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਬੀੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੀ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ!

ਕੁਝ ਵੀਰ ਇਸ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਤੇ ਕਰਮਕਾਂਡ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਚਮਤਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਰਤਾ ਕੁ ਤਾਰਕਿਕ ਗਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਗਲ ਬੇਮੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਤਖ਼ਤੀ ਪਾਣ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ| ਜੇਕਰ ਤਰਕ ਦੀ ਗਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੇਮੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਬੇਮੁੱਖ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੈ, ਕਿਓਂ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਤਰਕਵਾਦੀ ਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਕਦੀ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੇ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਕਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ| ਜਿੰਨੀ ਕਰਮਕਾਂਡਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਰੋਧਤਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਓਨਾ ਸੱਚ ਕਹਿਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਹੀ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਸੋਚ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ| ਪੁਰੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਂਡਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਰਿਦਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਭੇਖੀਆਂ ਤਕ, ਮੱਕੇ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਭੁੱਲੜਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮੁਲਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਲਿਬਾਸੀ ਪੀਰਾਂ ਤਕ, ਟਿੱਲੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੰਨਪਾਟਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਦੇ ਭਰੇ ਸਰੇਵੜਿਆਂ ਤਕ, ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਤਰਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਾਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ; ਕਿਓਂ ਜੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲ ਓਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ| ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਮੱਤ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੀ ਇੱਕੋ ਸਿਧਾਂਤ ਰਖਿਆ 'ਰੋਸ ਨਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੀਜੈ'| ਪਰ ਅੱਜ ਬਾਬੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣ ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰ ਤਰਕ ਦੀ ਗਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ| ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਏਹੋ ਲੋਕ ਬਾਬਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਅਸਲੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਬੇਮੁੱਖ ਵੀ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਓਸਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਵੀ|

ਦੂਜੇ ਜਿਹੜ੍ਹੀ ਰਹੀ ਸੁੱਚਮਤਾ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ, ਤਾਂ ਦੁੱਧ ਨਾਲ ਧੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਸੁੱਚਮਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਟਾਣੂ ਹੀ ਫੈਲਣਗੇ| ਦੁੱਧ, ਕਿਓਂ ਜੋ ਜੈਵਿਕ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕਣ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਦੀ ਗਰਮੀ ਦੇ ਚਲਦੇ ਜੈਵਿਕ-ਘਟਣ ਦੀ ਪਰਿਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਖਰਾਬ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਕੀਟਾਣੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦੇਣਗੇ| ਏਹੋ ਕੀਟਾਣੂ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਆਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂਆਂ ਲਈ ਫੇਰ ਸੁੱਚਮਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਛਡੋ ਬਲਕਿ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੌਗਾਤ ਬਣਨਗੇ|

ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਰਗੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ 'ਤੇ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਜੁੜੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਤੇ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਰੋਜਾਨਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਆਂਦੇ ਹੋਵਣ, ਉੱਥੇ ਤਾਂ ਸੁੱਚਮਤਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ| ਸੁੱਚਤਮ ਚਾਹਿਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਚਾਹਿਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਓਹ ਵੀ ਅਕਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ| ਦੁੱਧ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਨੇ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ, ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ| ਕਿਸੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੀਟਾਣੂ-ਨਾਸ਼ਕ ਨਾਲ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਓਹ ਸਹੀ ਮਾਇਨਿਆਂ 'ਚ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਸੁੱਚਮਤਾ ਲਿਆਵੇਗੀ|

ਕੁਝ ਵੀਰ ਇਸ ਅਡੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਰੀਤ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਏਸ ਦਾ ਬਚਾਓ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ! ਓਹਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਣਾ ਚਾਹਿਦਾ ਹੈ ਕੀ ਜਨੇਊ ਪਾਣਾ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਰੀਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ?  ਬਲਕਿ ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਤੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ (ਕੁ)ਰੀਤ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ 'ਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਬਾਬੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸੱਟ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਸਦੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਚਲਦੀ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਜਾਤੀ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਜੜੋਂ ਹਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ| ਤੀਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਸਦੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਚਲਦੀਆਂ ਆ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਪਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਸਤੀ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਲਾਹਨਤਾਂ  ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕੀ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ (ਕੁ)ਰੀਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਾਤਮਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕੀਤਾ? ਤੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ, ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ, ਨੇ ਫ਼ੇਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਰੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਲਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਨਵੀ ਰੀਤ ਚਲਾਈ ਸੀ| ਪੁਰਾਤਨ (ਕੁ)ਰੀਤਾਂ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਭੁੱਲੜ ਸਨ ਜਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਭੁੱਲੜ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਸਲੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਏ?

ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੇ ਫਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਡੋਲ੍ਹੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਨੂੰ ਜੇਕਰ ੮-੧੦ ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੂਰ ਮਾਨਾਂਵਾਲਾ ਵਿੱਚਲੀ ਪਿੰਗਲਵਾੜੇ ਦੀ ਇਮਾਰਤ 'ਚ ਪੁੱਜਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਵਧੀਆ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ? ਏਹੋ ਦੁੱਧ ਜਦ ਓਥੇ ਵਸਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ, ਮਰੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀ ਖੁਰਾਕ ਬਣੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੀ ਦਿਨ-ਬ-ਦਿਨ ਪਤਿਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਪਨੀਰੀ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਮੁੜ੍ਹ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਤੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੇਗਾ|

ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਗੁਰੂਦਵਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ-ਪੱਖੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾ ਸਕਦੇ? ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਮਣ  ਪਾਣੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਫ਼ਰਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰਨ 'ਚ ਰੋੜ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਓਦੋਂ ਜਦੋ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਖ਼ੋਜ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੰਨ ੨੦੩੦ ਤਕ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਣ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਪੀਣ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ੪੦ !ਤਕ ਘਾਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ % ਜ਼ਰਾ ਸੋਚੋ ਉਸ ਵਕ਼ਤ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ? ਜਿਹੜੀ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਅੱਜ ਕਰਦੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ, ਉਸਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਡਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੋਈ ੬੦੦ ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਕੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਫਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਸੋਚਿਆ!

ਜਪੁਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਰੋਜ਼ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਅੰਤਲਾ ਸਲੋਕ ਤਾਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਾਰਿਆ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ?

ਪਵਣੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਧਰਤਿ ਮਹਤੁ ||

ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਤਾ, ਪਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਦੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਨਮੋਲ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਤਨਾ ਘਾਣ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ?

ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਿਓ! ਜਦ ਤਕ ਇਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਇਲਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਰੁਮਾਲਿਆਂ 'ਚ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਾਰ ਹੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਗਏ, ਤਦ ਤਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਮੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੇ ਕਹਿਣਾ| ਆਓ! ਏਸ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੀ-੨ ਕੂਕ ਕੇ, ਯਾਨੀਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਚਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਢਾਲ ਕੇ, ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਦੇ ਪਰਤੱਖ ਕਰੀਏ| ਕੁਝ ਦੋ-ਚਾਰ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਹੀ ਚੱਲ ਵਿਖਾਈਏ, ਦੁਨਿਆ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗ ਤੁਰੇਗੀ, ੧੪੩੦ ਪੰਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਨੇ!! ਕਿਓਂ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ:

ਬਾਬਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਮਨਮੱਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਅਸਲੀ ਇਲਹਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬੇਮੁੱਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵਿਹਲੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਟੋਲੇ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗ ਤੁਰੇ ਇਸ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਹੀ ਬਿਪਰਨ ਦੇ ਪੰਥ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਮੱਤ ਬਖਸ਼ੇ!!

Unrest in Kashmir

We have been hearing about continuous unrest in Kashmir from past many days. People are on streets against the fraudulent encounters committed by some rotten section of Indian Armed forces. These incidents have actually created a huge hate against India as a state in common Kashmiris. With separatists leading from front, these scattered protests of contempt turned into a far spread mass-movement against state. All of this has made situations really boiling in the valley!

The main concern is Security forces are using severe violence to control contempt of public and as a consequence the civilian region is being converted into a kind of battleground. The way of brutality, in which the unrest in public is being dealt with, is very dangerous for the Indian state itself as the route of suppression would only hit the integrity of state as an outcome. The specific incidents involving the killing of underage boys are the highest examples of cruelty. The history has proved that the blood of innocents has power to bring down the empires. So both methodology & approach need to be mended as an immediate measure.

The use of battleground artillery by mob-controlling machinery on unarmed civilians protesting for their genuine causes, which may or may not suit to state policies & interests, has to be stopped as a very first step to restore the faith of people in the state. All efforts should be made to bring out the truth behind those fraudulent encounters and every perpetrator has to be booked under the suitable clauses of law of land irrespective of one’s rank and status. Justice could only wash the stains of bloodshed. And delay in justice would only be the denial of it which would lead to more loss of trust in system.

Addition to all above, there shouldn't be any opposition or ban on peaceful protests by public while humane ways have to be used to control violent situations in order to prevent state of affairs going out of control. After all our constitution has given this right of protest to all of its citizens and providing this right to Kashmiri brethren would only strengthen their faith in the constitution as well as the system.

Killings of commoners equate forces to ruthless terrorists. Forces need to learn that they are there to protect the public and to restore the peace in the region and not to create the environment of terror while making the situations even worse for the nation. Mainstream politicians of the valley also have to learn that using the public unrest for their filthy power games is like playing with fire. It would only ruin the whole state of affairs in the long run.

Nationalism – Myths & Realities

These days we are facing a very sickening type of nationalism in our society, which rather than protecting the interests of our nation resulting in a threat for its integrity. There is however no problem with having proud of our nation and its values but the way we are realizing this concept is flawed in its basics.

The problem with our nationalists is that they are always in denial mode to every injustice and crime against humanity committed by our state in past and present. This approach is like a pigeon which on seeing the cat closes eyes to deny its existence. However this refusal would be of no help to save it from grave danger. We could no longer behave as Dhidhrashtra* while dealing with the crimes against our own minorities, SCs & STs and other linguistic or cultural groups on the name of maintaining national honour.

The right approach to solve our problems is to first accept all of our failures audaciously, then regret for them boldly and then take every necessary step to make certain that perpetrators of such atrocious acts would face appropriate penalty by the law of land. This would help in reinstating the faith of all stake-holders of our system and would actually strengthen the footing of idea of our integral nationhood.

Along with we need to ensure the reestablishment of lives of the victims of our failures as our prime duty so that they can rejoin mainstream of our society. This would broaden our brethren by many folds and would also contribute enormously in our vibrant progress by making it more sustainable.

Wider involvement of civil society and local groups is required in addressing all of the grievances while giving complete consideration even to those viewpoints which are otherwise completely against to our self defined laws.

However it is the matter of shame that we are using muscle power against the voices for justice of ones who are already the sufferers of our atrocities on the very name of national spirit or synthetic patriotism. It is the main cause of further worsening of our troubles while endangering the very concept of our integrated existence over long run.

Life, Questions & Answers

What is the meaning of life? Is it only respiring, earning, eating, sleeping, romancing, reproducing or so? We are living on a planet full of around 6.5 billion of people. Everybody is doing these things, so de facto all are qualified of being alive. My conscience always asks me am I here to be just like crawlers or there is a specific purpose of my existence? Why am I alive otherwise? It seems to be representing spiritual alter-ego of my personality but it is a valid question in all senses. If completing my daily tasks is the only need then I am nothing but a crawler. There would be hardly any difference between the existence of a cattle or an insect and sophisticated, intelligent and so called humane existence of mine.

The best way to know the answer(s) of these doubts is to earn the eligibility to get answered. Wisdom says that there is no question without answer(s). Answers are ready much before the question is posed. Only thing is some answers are readily available while for others we have to put extreme efforts of ours to find out. In addition to these, there are some answers for whom we have to earn the qualification to get them known. Questions of life meet the criteria of answers belonging to later category.

Now this believe is itself a web of questions. How could one become eligible to get the answers of life? Where to start the journey and what actually is to be achieved? What is on stake and what could be in the way as facilitator or as obstacle? How could I be sure that I am following the right path or direction i.e. whether I am moving ahead on the road to attain eligibility to get the solutions of riddles put forward by life or just confusing with and getting all my energy wasted for none? Can someone be chosen as the guide or this travel actually needs guidance? There are millions of other threads in this web but foremost is whether these questions of life which appear to demand answers are genuine or just an escape route for running the routine challenges and pains of human life?

This subject is so mystic in itself that once you start with it and you find yourself in an unending maze. Begin with any corner and you never seem to find the other one while loosing the way from where you have actually started and left puzzled & perplexed in every sense. So do we need to quarantine this thinking to save ourselves form mental stigma or at least dive in the ocean of thoughts and try to search? I agree with later argument. It doesn’t matter if we would fail to reach to conclusion(s) but the pleasure of search is itself a big achievement. Answer(s) would definitely be the target but steps we follow and logics we employ could never be underestimated in its value.

Even though we could disturb our routine life while seeking out the solutions for the questions whose genuinity we couldn’t sure about, it would always be worthy to struggle for. It could be anything but an escape route. Every life in existence has a motive associated with it. It’s exploration worth our efforts.

Search of an individual is the reflexion of the intellectual capability one possesses in the way of one’s thrive for answers about the truths of life and is specific to particular identity. So there is no question of external guide. The one could take the guidance from self only. Others can give suggestions based on superficial thinking which could never be helpful until the self search. It is similar to way that we could never learn swimming unless we ourselves dive in water. Only the submergence of our conscience can make us able to find the pearls of truthful answers.

Even if we have doubts about path we are following we should at least attempt to search. A failure in an attempt wouldn’t be a failure in real sense but the success in manner we would have discovered another way via which success couldn’t be achieved.

Operation Blue Star 1984 – Remembrances

June 6th, 2010 was the 26th anniversary of heinous slaughter named operation blue star committed by Indian state against the Sikh minority of the nation in their holiest shrine. Innocent people including olds, women & children were butchered in sanctum sanctorum of Golden Temple by Indian Army claiming it fight against terror groups. Armed struggle brought into the place which is revered as sacred not only by Sikh community but many others, was a horrible act of state terror.

It was a first of its kind incident in modern world history where a state audaciously calling itself the world largest democracy used its full fledged armed capability & artillery against its own citizens. The day too chosen for this operation also raises severe doubts about the real intentions behind scenes. It was holy martyrdom day of fifth Sikh Guru due to which lots of innocent devotees collected in the Gurudwara to pay their homage. This shameful act had naked the real temperament of the values of which Indian system is boasting about.

This was the main cause which embedded the concept of a separate state, which was only the brainchild of few fundamentalists & separatists till then, in psyche of most of the Sikh minority of nation aftermath as their rights of survival with dignity were crushed to boots in Indian state, though they were the most visible group which contributed in freedom struggle of this very nation and resulted in its creation.

Once again the state sponsored & well-planned massacre of Sikh community round the country in November 1984 after Indira Gandhi's killing resulted in widespread support for militancy and strengthened the demand of separation. Again the way in which Indian state responded to these demands with largest human rights violations in the history after the holocaust by Nazis is a slur on its very character which term itself a democratic, socialist & secular nation.

In later years, thousands of Sikh youths were killed in fraudulent encounters by officers in police & forces brutally to gain rewards & promotions from government on killing terrorists. There was a literal hunting of Sikh youths by cops going on during those black days. Thousands of other innocents got killed or handicapped while being picked up & tortured mercilessly in Indian Jails cum hells. Till date there are unexplainable missings of thousands of youths, since those days, which could be the possible victims of atrocities of uniformed constituents of state, about whom no inquiry had been carried out ever to find out the truth.

The biggest disheartening tragedy in all is that even the Indian judicial system failed completely to provide justice in any of these unpleasant incidents. There is not even a single example where a single culprit from political circle to uniformed cadre got punished for these unforgiveable crimes against humanity. This has raised the questions on moral fibre which judicial system is supposed to carry around to some extent in our rotted system.

Sikh community is advised these days by Indian fraternity of majority community to forget those incidents and move ahead with so called progress in the country. But the biggest question is whether moving on without getting justice is possible? The answer is big NO!
